![]() ![]() Undisputed 2 shows Chambers and Boyka as fighters whose skills are great but whose attitudes need work. ![]() Having Bokya as the antagonist of his first meeting with Chambers also gave the series something it could later cash in any time it felt like doing so. This made Boyka's transition to an anti-hero in Undisputed 3: Redemption and a truly selfless hero outright in Boyka: Undisputed the point where Undisputed actually became an energetic and popular martial arts franchise. Sure, Chambers was a changed man and had won his freedom after being framed, but Boyka was an antagonist viewers had grown to greatly admire. Add in Boyka's astonishing and extremely eclectic fighting style and Chambers' initially unpleasant personality, and Boyka's loss in their rematch was suddenly something viewers weren't thrilled to see. Boyka was far from stand-up character, but none of the truly malevolent villains of the Undisputed series would've rejected an illegitimate win as Boyka had done. ![]() In particular, when Boyka learns that Chambers was drugged without his knowledge in their first fight, he's furious to the point of killing the two inmates behind it. Though Boyka was the bad guy in a sense, the movie set viewers up to root for him with his warrior's mindset and inviolable code of honor.
